Short but Sweet

I had the best time visiting WV.  It was the recharge that I needed.  My family and friends are just amazing.  I ate good food (had spaghetti for breakfast even), received more hugs than I can count, bought the cutest clothes to bring back with me, and hung out with my nephew as much as I possibly could. I got to visit with my parents, grandparents, sister, one of my uncles, 2 cousins, the in-laws, and most of my friends. Thank you to all that made an effort to see me while I was in… it really meant alot to me.

The thing I wasn’t expecting to happen was how I felt when I came back to Korea. I missed it while I was gone. I got off the airport shuttle, was walking to my apartment and couldn’t stop smiling. Maybe it was the recharge that made me appreciate what I actually do have here. I was happy to see my park and even had a chamchi (tuna) kimbap for lunch, which I absolutely love.

Things are back to normal around here. Working and relaxing. I am soo much more calm from being here, instead of working 2 jobs, going to school, and student teaching. I forgot how to enjoy down-time.

FYI…. a trip home

I am super excited because I am going to be able to visit the Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.  I need a trip home.  This will be a solo trip, Seth is taking a different week of vacation.  He’s also a different sort of person than I am.  As much as I do enjoy getting to experience this amazing country… I miss home.  Mainly I need to get a few dozen hugs and I’ll be right as rain.  Not to mention that some Mexican food sounds amazing right about now.  My trip will be extremely short lived, but worth the trip.  I fly into Huntington June 9th!  Woo Hoo, just a few weeks away.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers in my life.

Here in Korea, they celebrate Parent’s Day instead of having seperate days for Mothers and Fathers.

a happy mother´s day to all mothers...

That is the one thing that is difficult about being soo far away from home… not being able to give hugs to the ones I love.   I am very blessed to have such loving family.  My grandmother, who is such an amazing woman, is still not feeling well and it is difficult not to be able to be there for her.  My mom, still living in Cincinnati, who I am thrilled got a new phone so she can email me everyday now.  My step-mother, Connie, who keeps my dad in line and is always there when I need her. My mother-in-law, Geraldine, who has treated me like a daughter for last 10 years.

This is my sister’s second Mother’s Day and my friend Jaime’s first, so it’s a very happy day for them.   And to all the other mothers… Happy Day to you too!  It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.
